The South African Airways Museum Society is an aviation museum based at Rand Airport in Germiston, Gauteng, South Africa. The museum was founded in 1986 and houses a collection of South African Airways memorabilia such as photos and aircraft scale models.

Education: Create Aviation & Career Awareness. Contribute to strengthen Education, specifically in the areas of maths, science and technology. Health: Providing air transport (limited to SAA’s route network) for patients to access medical treatment which is not provided in South Africa.

The South African Airways Museum Society was founded in 1986 by individuals within South African Airways and interested outside parties with the aim of preserving the history of South African Airways as well as that of general civil aviation in South Africa.

Why was the SAA Museum established?

The volunteer non-profit organisation was founded in 1986 with the aim of preserving the history of civil aviation in South Africa. One of the museum’s aims is to create an awareness of the greatness of South African aviation.
