The political leader of the department is the Provincial Minister of Education; as of 2009 this is Donald Grant.

How do I track my application status for WCED?

Here’s how to track a WCED school application:

  1. Go to the WCED admissions website.
  2. Log in with your WCED login using your username and password.
  3. Go to “Track Application Status”
  4. Select the name of the learner.

How can I accept WCED admission?

Parents will be required to accept or decline places where their admission has been successful. The parent will only then be required to provide certified hard copy documents to the school that they have selected, within 7 days of acceptance.

When to apply for Grade 8 2024 Western Cape?

The Western Cape launched its 2024 public school learner enrollment programme on 13th March, much earlier than many of the other provinces. Parents could apply until 25th May 2023.
